Wigdor LLP Represents Black It Employee In Allegations Of Race Discrimination Against Fox

Wigdor LLP represents a current Black employee in Fox’s Internet Technology Department who alleges race discrimination against Bob Beckel, co-host of “The Five,” which airs during prime time on Fox News.  On Tuesday, May 16, 2017, Wigdor LLP’s client was called to perform work on Mr. Beckel’s computer.  Mr. Beckel, who has a history of making racially insensitive remarks on air, rushed out of his office as soon as our client arrived.  When our client asked Mr. Beckel why he was leaving the office, Mr. Beckel said he was leaving because our client is Black.  Our client immediately complained to Kevin Lord, the Head of Human Resources at Fox News.  Although Fox fired Mr. Beckel three days later, it did not do so before Mr. Lord, in what can only be described as a complete dereliction of his duties as a human resources professional, permitted Mr. Beckel to repeatedly pressure our client to withdraw his complaint so that he would not lose his job.

Wigdor LLP now represents 23 current and former employees of Fox, including three complaints filed today, May 22, 2017, on behalf of Kathleen Lee, Naima Farrow and Vidya Mann.  In addition, Wigdor LLP represents 13 Black and Hispanic employees in a race discrimination putative class action filed in Bronx County Supreme Court, Fox5 Reporter Lidija Ujkic in a race, age, pregnancy and gender discrimination action in the Southern District of New York, Fox News Radio Reporter Jessica Golloher in a gender discrimination and retaliation action in the New York County Supreme Court and another former Fox News employee who has filed an action with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
