Wigdor LLP Welcomes Former SDNY Deputy Criminal Division Chief Jane Kim as a Partner

Wigdor LLP is pleased to announce that Jane Kim, a former Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, has joined the firm as a Partner.

Ms. Kim joins Wigdor LLP after eleven years at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York (SDNY), where she served as Deputy Chief of the Criminal Division and as Human Trafficking Coordinator. At SDNY, Ms. Kim supervised, investigated, and prosecuted some of the country’s most high-profile, complex, and sensitive matters, including cases involving civil rights violations, human trafficking, sexual abuse and assault, public corruption, national security, and financial fraud. As an Assistant U.S. Attorney, among other matters, Ms. Kim led the prosecution of Robert Hadden, a former OB/GYN who sexually abused numerous patients for decades under the auspices of medical care, and the prosecution of Ricardo Cruciani, a former pain management doctor who sexually assaulted and exploited patients, including in exchange for pain medication. At Wigdor LLP, Ms. Kim will continue to seek justice for victims and survivors of sexual misconduct, discrimination, and institutional wrongdoing.

“Jane has devoted her career to standing up for victims. Her exceptional experience, leadership, and integrity as a litigator and as a sex crimes prosecutor, coupled with her victim-centered, trauma-informed approach, perfectly align with our mission to empower survivors to come forward and demand justice,” said Douglas Wigdor, the firm’s Founding Partner.

“I am thrilled to join Wigdor, and to continue advocating for victims and survivors of sexual abuse and assault, civil rights violations, and discrimination,” said Ms. Kim. “Wigdor is the only firm of its kind, and I am honored to join a team that is wholly committed to seeking justice for victims and holding individuals and institutions accountable.”

Prior to joining SDNY, Ms. Kim clerked for the Honorable Denny Chin of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, and she was a litigation associate at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP. She received her J.D. from Columbia Law School, where she was a James Kent Scholar and recipient of the Pauline Berman Heller Prize. She received her A.B. from Harvard University, where she graduated with honors.
