Experience and Types of Cases
Ms. Arena focuses her practice on a variety of employment matters involving claims of discrimination, sexual harassment and retaliation. She is a skilled litigator with experience in both civil practice and as a criminal prosecutor.
Prior to joining Wigdor LLP, Ms. Arena served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Special Victims Bureau at the Kings County District Attorney’s Office, where she secured several convictions at trial and directed complex investigations related to violent felony sexual offenses and crimes against children. In her civil practice, Ms. Arena has represented large corporations and small business owners in disputes arising out of contract breach, statutory compliance and negligence claims.
Education
Ms. Arena received her J.D. from Brooklyn Law School, where she received a CALI Award for Excellence in New York Criminal Procedure and participated in a year-long Prosecution Clinic. Upon graduation, Ms. Arena received the Belson Prize for demonstrating the highest degree of dedication and professional responsibility while participating in the Prosecution Clinic. During law school, she held internships at the U.S. Department of Justice in the Criminal Division, Office of International Affairs, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York, and the City of New York. Ms. Arena received her B.A. in English from Skidmore College, completing a portion of her coursework at the University of Oxford.
