Against the backdrop of a number of condemning studies on the unequal representation of women in venture capital firms, a gender discrimination lawsuit was filed in San Francisco County Superior Court by Ellen Pao against the venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins. The trial was followed closely by the national media.
